About the Author
Derek Prince (1915–2003) was born in Bangalore, India, into a British military family. He was educated as a scholar of classical languages at Eton College and Cambridge University in England and later at Hebrew University, Israel. As a student, he was a philosopher and self-proclaimed agnostic. While in the British Medical Corps during World War II, Prince began to study the Bible as a philosophical work. Converted through a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ, he was baptized in the Holy Spirit a few days later. This life-changing experience altered the whole course of his life, which he thereafter devoted to studying and teaching the Bible as the Word of God. Internationally recognized as a Bible scholar and spiritual patriarch, Derek Prince taught and ministered on six continents for more than sixty years. Until a few years before his death at the age of 88, he traveled the world, imparting God’s revealed truth, praying for the sick and afflicted, and sharing his prophetic insights into world events in the light of Scripture. He is the author of over eighty books, six hundred audio teachings, and one hundred video teachings, many of which have been translated and published in more than one hundred languages. He pioneered teaching on such groundbreaking themes as generational curses, the biblical significance of Israel, and demonology. Derek Prince Ministries, with its international headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, continues to distribute his teachings and to train missionaries, church leaders, and congregations through its worldwide national offices. It is estimated that Derek Prince’s messages have reached more than half the globe through his books, CDs, and daily radio program, which is now known as Derek Prince Legacy Radio. In 2002 he said, “It is my desire—and I believe the Lord’s desire—that this ministry continue the work, which God began through me over sixty years ago, until Jesus returns.”

This is one of the best books that I have read in a while! Once I started reading it, I could not put it down! While I've always had a pretty broad understanding of the 9 Spiritual Gifts, I never had a closer, deeper spiritual understanding until I read this book. The author breaks it down in a fashion that enlightens one's mind, and leaves no stone unturned. One of my favorite lines that blew me away was: "A person's character does not determine his gift, and his gift does not reflect his character." Blew me away!Please, if you're considering, go ahead and purchase this book. It's very thorough. I'd recommend this book to anyone ready to go deeper into their spirituality.
I LOVE Derek Prince and appreciate his sound doctrine. I trust his teaching and am glad I discovered his work after completing his Self-Study Bible Course (wonderful study!) After being totally confused on the gifts of the Spirit I finally have some much needed clarification. Also helps one to discern the counterfeit - a really frightening and confusing thing to encounter. Highly recommend!
I am seeking to be more in tune with our Great Creator of Heaven, heaven's and this world. I seek this through the power of the Holy Spirit. I am born again and have been studying Gods Great and Holy Word for 12 years. As I grow in His Word, the Holy Spirit continues to sanctify my body, soul and spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23) that I may grow into the fruits of the spirit. Through this growth, I feel as if God has introduced. Mr. Prince to me to help me grasp more knowledge of the gifts of the Spirit. I believe Mr. Prince is spot on in his teachings and wander why haven't we heard this type of teaching in the churches of America today or its because of the teachings of the churches I have attended. I highly recommend this book to believers who want to go deeper in their spiritual walk with our loving,compassionate Creator. This book is so rich with knowledge of the Gifts of the Spirit, that will have to go back and takes notes and meditate on it to fully understand my gifts from The Holy Spirit. Our Great King, The Master of my life Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit to be our Advocate, Comforter and Teacher and it is through Him we are reconciled back to Abba Father Creator of the Universe and it is through the Power of the Holy Spirit to truly know Him. This book contains revelatory knowledge and opens your understanding to the operation of the gifts of the Spirit that we see in our churches today. It enlighten in spiritual eyes and now I can identify when the gifts of the Spirit are being manifested.
As a believer, I'm sad to say I've never experienced miraculous healings, speaking in tongues or prophecy. I was taught to be a cessationist. Lately, God has been opening my eyes to His power and this book has been most informative and inspiring! I've loved every book of his that I have read!
